The second web design project I took on was my first experience with responsive web design. To give myself some practice, I came up with an idea for a deli called Union St. Deli.

 think one of the most important aspects of design is having the ability to create something specifically for a certain brand. Too often do I see designs that look like they could be applied to any number of brand or businesses. It is when this happens that design begins to look like it was created from a template for a generic purpose in mind. Because of this, it is very important for my work to begin with research about a brand or business before I even begin the actual design.

For this project, I come up with a theoretical business to ensure that the site I created was tailored for a specific purpose. The design centered around a typographic logo that resembles a street sign. The shop hypothetically would be located on Union Street in downtown Seattle, so I chose colors, fonts, and images that reflected the culture of the city and the Pacific Northwest as a whole.
